Behavioral economics provides a rich set of explicit models of non-classical preferences and belief formation which can be used to specify and estimate structural models. At the same time, experimental approaches allow to exogenously vary components of the decision making environment. The synergy between behavioral and experimental economics provides a natural setting for the estimation of structural models. This contribution seeks to facilitate adoption of structural modelling by providing simple Stata codes to replicate the empirical illustrations that will be presented. Codes will be simple, with no programming involved. Examples that will be presented include estimation of outcome-based preferences (CES utility, ERC, Fehr and Schmidt), belief-dependent preferences (guilt aversion and reciprocity). It will also discuss estimation of risk and ambiguity preferences. The element will also discuss measurement of probabilistic beliefs and expectations and how to incorporate these in structural models. The element will also discuss how to incorporate observable and unobservable preference heterogeneity. Finally, the element will discuss model validation both within sample and out of sample.
