The Role of Asia in the Global Economy: Considerations for Canada**

As global trade slows, and the US retreats into exceptionalism and unilateralism, Canada needs to diversify its economic relationships. Despite a traditional and continuing reliance on the United States, Canada must deepen economic relationships beyond the US (and EU), looking to Asia for growth. However, growth projections in Asia are uneven and Canada's relations with key players are either challenged (China) or not fully exploited (ASEAN, India). This roundtable will examine projected Asian economic growth and explore options for Canada going forward.
